Clinique’s Superfit foundation was a very nice surprise for me.
First of all I was never a huge fan of Clinique products (nothing seemed to work for me) and I was not keen on trying their make-up for a long time. Now I know why. That is because I was using the wrong products (those that were not specific for my skin type). Now, after I finally understood, I’ve included Clinique’s 3 Step System in my daily skincare routine and I just adore it. Actually I am addicted to it. I said lets try their make-up.
I got this Superfit foundation from my sister. She hated it.
She said she looked yellow and shiny. I think she has drier skin than mine. I gave it a try and I don’t regret it. Before hand I should say that I have combination/oily skin. According to the specification on the product, this foundation is specially created for oily skin. It claims to give a matte finish, to be long wearing and the formula is non oil whatsoever. This is the official description more or less. The formula is very “watery”. To be honest, I was not expecting that from a foundation for oily skin.
What do I love about Clinique Superfit Foundation?
It doesn’t leave a matt finish, but more of a dewy one (very nice though, actually I prefer it to the matt), it is a skin friendly foundation (did not brake me out at all) and a very longwearing product also. Another thing that I love about it is its coverage (light to medium); that can be a down side for many of you, especially for those with very oily skin. For me the superfit foundation is perfect, because I don’t like that full coverage foundations (like the Revlon ColorStay, for example – I feel it constantly on my face). If you think you need stronger coverage, this foundation is very buildable (you can apply a few layers to get the right effect) or you can apply it with a stippling brush. I apply it with the Sephora Professional Mineral Powder Brush #45 to get a smooth, light layer, especially during summer time, because even if it’s light it is extremely long wearing, humidity and sweat proof. It feels like a second skin.
Down sides of Clinique Superfit Foundation?
First of all the price can be pretty high (compared with the drugstore foundations), it is 20 $-22 $; then the container looks pretty cheap, you can’t see the product inside; as I said, the light to medium coverage can be considered also a down side to some. Personally none of these bothered me, but even I have had an issue with it. The shades don’t fit me; they all seem to have some yellow tint in it. I have it in Beige, I’ve tried Shell and Champagne also. Luckily, I wear it mostly during summer, when I have a little bit of tan and the yellow tint seems to fade. I am pretty fair and in the winter, the yellow tint was more obvious.
Would I buy it again? I got it for free as I said, but it doesn’t compare with any drugstore foundation. I don’t like to rave about high end products, I don’t think the quality matches the price tag for the majority of them, but this time, it’s worth the investment. I said investment, because you get a nice foundation for oily skin and you also get a skin care product.
So, i recommend you to try the Clinique Superfit Foundation and see for yourself!

Thanks for the review. I certainly love it because you gave me an idea that I myself should rely on tested and proven products like this Clinique. Your post will serve as my motivation as I will surely try this one.
I never liked Clinique as it made my skin dry and sounds like although OK you wouldn’t buy it so I’ll continue to steer clear!
I’ve recently started a blog, the information you provide on this site has helped me tremendously. Thank you for all of your time & work.
Unfortunatly, but this foundation caused an allergic reaction. Very sorry, my friend likes it very much and always enjoy it
This reminded me of an essay I had to write in highschool! LOL! Boy how time flies…
I find that even though some makeup products can be expensive, a lot of times it’s completely worth the extra money spent!
